About Me

My name is Rikki, the pup in the photo is Mello, and I’m the artist and contemplative behind Starmoth Press. Here’s a bit about me 🧶

💗 I’ve been sober since December 11, 2017. I’m grateful to be given this second opportunity at life.

💗 I talk a lot about spirituality, and how it informs my creative practice / daily life. I started off as a witch, then moved into studying all religions…most notably contemplative Christianity. I’ve found that an interfaith, non-dualistic perspective is the most conducive to walking this incarnation. Existing in the in-between, I can recognize all of the ways the systems in place force us into binary thinking. I am doing my best to unlearn this. You may see me write a lot about god as I experience it. Know that you can replace this name / title with whatever works best for you.

💗 I am a zinester, art journaler, writer, abstract artist, amateur doodler, creative explorer, book lover, tarot reader and fiber artist. Recently my fiber arts practice (knitting and crochet) have been pulling for my full attention after some much needed time away.

💗 I am diagnosed bipolar and inattentive type ADHD. I am learning to navigate how these identifiers mean that I show up in the world, but ultimately, they are not a total expression of who I am.

💗 I am a stay at home mom and wife. I am grateful to have the ability to do this even with our ever-changing culture and economy. My mind, body and soul have worked hard to recover from burnout after years of pushing myself in survival mode through active addiction. In 2025, I intend to fully embrace the idea that my worth is intrinsic outside of the money I bring to the table. It is my belief that one of the most important tasks we can take on is unlearning capitalist programming.

💗 Other topics that light me up that I may visit in this space: world-building, creativity, UFOs/UAP, textile art and other crafts, living in this WEIRD timeline, embodiment, fiction writing, and more.

💗 Ultimately, it is my hope to approach this space as more of a journal space. There is a paid subscription option, and I maintain the right to paywall posts that feel too vulnerable for the general public. I am open to feedback, and if you feel you don’t align with what I have to say, you are still welcome here. I simply ask that you remain respectful. It is within your right to unsubscribe if you feel called. I will never hold a grudge about this, and wish you the best. We are all just living our lives in the best ways we know how.

Thanks for being here. Your attention is valuable.

May we all love each other better.
