This is personal, very informal experiment that aims to collect data on the transmutation effects of art practice. For me, specifically, this will be mostly through the act of collage. It should be noted that I have not placed any such limitations on this experiment. Collage is what is most accessible to me at this moment. I will share three words to describe where I am feeling both before and after I complete one small collage. It is my hope that this information will remind me of the power of these actions when I find myself in a difficult head space. I am sharing both for accountability and with the hope that it may inspire others to make their own collage (or whatever the equivalent is for you, though as I mentioned, collage is very accessible). If you feel the urge to try this experiment with your own practice, I would love if you shared so that we could build a network of understanding and mutual respect for the transmutation effects of art practice.
Thank you.

I’m often aware of how I feel before creating something, but I don’t actually attribute words to my feelings. Jotting them down would be such a simple, yet revealing exercise. Thank you for sharing!
art is so great for the soul ✨️🪷
